cooldown

Let your phone cool down

Cooldown tells when your phone is in your hand and when it rests. Held too long, it overheats, and the apps you choose lock until it has cooled.

One dock for all your phones

Friends share a circle, and a circle shares one charging dock. A resting phone sits in its berth; a phone in use floats over it. The load on the dock is the average of everyone's heat: at 75 its fuse blows and everyone's chosen apps lock together, for 20 minutes at most. Phones that rest at the same time cool twice as fast.

In the app

Three looks, all of them your phone

Two eyes that go from cheerful to sleepy to on edge while the glass cracks. The inside of the phone, as its glass falls off in panels over the gears, the battery and the cables. Or a little phone to look after, which sweats, steams and sleeps on its pad. The look also sits beside the camera and on the lock screen.

A friend decides if a locked app opens

Write why you need it. Your circle gets the question, and whoever answers first decides; if nobody does in two minutes, a model decides. A yes opens the app for a few minutes. Phone, messages, maps and other essentials never lock.

Friends remind each other

When a friend's phone overheats, the circle hears of it and can send a reminder to put it down. Nothing arrives at night.

Face-down rest

Lay the phone on its screen. The rest starts by itself and ends when you lift it.

Your days, and your circle's week

How long the phone was in your hand, how it rested, and how each phone on the dock spent the week. Every sticker is a fact about a measured day.
